SouthernConnections help: GnuPG
The Gnu Privacy Guard
Please use encryption. Why? To protect the remaining shreds of your privacy, and perhaps regain a little of what has been lost.
GnuPG is a "complete and free replacement" for PGP.
Both GnuPG and PGP use public-key cryptography. If public-key cryptography is new to you, please read the "Concepts" chapter
of the GnuPG manual.GNU is the source of GPG. You should get it from a site referred to at GPG download.
To install and use GnuPG, review the HowTo documents.
Especially useful is the GNU Privacy Handbook.
Windows users should look at Brendan Kidwell's Practical Introduction to GPG in Windows.
Macintosh users can download GnuPG from Source Forge. The project home page has helpful links. The FAQmay be helpful.
