When a public space is deemed fit to play a role in a wedding, I think it has come of age in the most positive sense.
Min Jung Kim and Jason Hoffman chose to share part of their prenuptial communications via twitter on Thursday.
properly twitter wed (rejoice!)
MJ: my new mom in law caught the bouquet! awesomeness! watch out fellasMJ: yup. im an honest woman now! we are legally wed!
MJ: no im not walking down the hallway to taco bell"s canon
MJ: Pastor's here. Waiting on groomsmen. You fellas! The things i do to spoil a bachelor party. Like uh... get married.
Everything they said which I read was graceful, appropriate and given the highly constrained format of twitter messages (tweets), at points even eloquent.
Eventually, I suspect, their grandchildren will be proud.
The nature of the online phenomenon was well-understood by the then bride-to-be, for MJ wondered in one tweet, "Does this qualify as the first wedding flashmob or what?"
Impromptu online wedding party, perhaps? Or flashprenuptial party?
All enthusiastic well-wishers, from what I saw.
Although I know neither of them, I wish them both well and thank them for sharing.
