Tweeple gave away passwords

Eager for another pseudoranking of their social networking cred, large numbers of twitter users have sheepishly filled in their passwords when requested, apparently with no thought of security.

No harm done in this case perhaps, but it matters. Even if you don't care who captures and uses your twitter account for a while, loss of one of your passwords into the wild matters.

Most of us use a few variations on a few passwords to manage our many online accounts.

The bad guys know about typical user password habits and will use that data to your disadvantage.

ElectriCities slides past lobbying reform

Sliding past the required-by-law "cooling off" period between a North Carolina legislator's leaving office and registration as a lobbyist, Electricities has hired Drew Saunders, recently of the N.C. House, to ?work on grassroots initiatives and fundraising.?

Presidential vote maps by population

We are no longer a center/right nation.

The presidential election vote map at right has state sizes adjusted to match their population rather than their land mass and so visually illustrate how "blue" the Nov. 4 vote really was.

Journos Palin pranked

Nonexistent source Martin Eisenstadt scammed journalists and bloggers with the fake story that Sarah Palin thought African was a country.

"Duped", says Donklephant, which has company including MSNBC, Mother Jones and others who could have consulted SourceWatch.

But not Fox News, which broke the story, says faux consultant Martin Eisenstadt is not its source and, as of this writing, stands by its account.
